The new site uses the OnSight SiteShell to provide multi-level galleries showcasing Orla's three photographic disciplines, while the system also allows Orla to offer potential clients information about her background, details of her packages and services, and display client feedback and testimonials.

March 13th, 2009New IPPA Website goes live!

The new Irish Professional Photographers' Association (IPPA) website is now live, offering a comprehensive web directory, sample galleries, news updates, and resource facility for both IPPA members and the general public.

Based largely on the existing site, OnSight rebuilt the site from the ground up with an improved codebase.

In doing so, we improved and standardised the look-and-feel and feel of the various sections, ease-of-use and navigation; we also ensured better cross-browser performance, as well as improved scalability for future enhancements and features.

There are also a whole host of new and improved features:

  • improved photographer sample galleries
  • improved photographic exhibition galleries
  • online awards entry submission
  • improved search facilities & results display
  • standardised content display, including Skillnet
  • additional online resources & member facilities

Check it out for yourself!

February 23rd, 2009IPPA Orientation Day

The next IPPA Orientation Day for New Licentiates will take place on Monday, February 23rd, and OnSight will once again be presenting a talk on the various approaches that you can take to avail of the opportunities that a website can offer you.

Our presentation will give you insight into achieving the best return from your investment in your website, giving you invaluable information on the importance of domain name registration, consistent branding, website design and development, website features, promotion (including details of what search engines look for), website maintenance and the importance of regular updates.

We will also cover aspects of marketing via the internet, the dos and don'ts of email-based marketing and newsletters, and offer you information on avoiding and coping with unwanted SPAM, "phishing" attempts and other intrusive behaviour.

Please note that this is not a public event; it is open to new IPPA Licentiate members only

If you are a new IPPA Licentiate, please accept our congratulations on your achievement, and we look forward to meeting you on February 23rd at the IPPA Headquarters in Muirfield Drive.

If you are ineligible or unable to make it to the Orientation Day, you are welcome to download our Powerpoint presentation to ensure that you don't miss anything.
